The NBA closed the book on Las Vegas Summer League Sunday night with Golden State beating Memphis for the championship, and on Monday the league dropped its All-Summer League teams — voted on by all 30 franchises based on performance at the Las Vegas showcase.
Yaxel Lendeborg didn’t just make the First Team. He took the whole trophy. The Warriors forward was named Summer League MVP after averaging 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists across six games — numbers that won’t blow the doors off a box score until you remember he was the engine on a team that won the title. Efficiency over fireworks. The voters noticed.
Joining Lendeborg on the First Team: Cameron Boozer (Memphis Grizzlies), Brayden Burries (Milwaukee Bucks), Meleek Thomas (Cleveland Cavaliers), and Caleb Wilson (Chicago Bulls). The Second Team runs Cedric Coward (Grizzlies), Egor Demin (Nets), Khaman Maluach (Suns), Liam McNeeley (Hornets), and Zyon Pullin (Timberwolves).
Here’s where it gets fun. Burries — the Bucks’ second-round pick — was the statistical headliner of the entire First Team. He played four of Milwaukee’s five games and averaged 23.5 points, good for fifth among all Summer League participants. He added 4.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds, logged eight blocks, and was the Bucks’ leading scorer in every game he appeared in. He’s the first Milwaukee player to land on the All-Summer League First Team since Sandro Mamukelashvili in 2022.
And then there was the Philadelphia game. Burries dropped 27 and five dimes, and with two seconds left in regulation he took it to the rim and finished the layup that won it by two. Walk-off layup in July. The box score says Summer League. The moment said something else.
Boozer, the third overall pick, made the First Team for Memphis — a franchise that also landed Coward on the Second Team, giving the Grizzlies two All-Summer League honorees and a runner-up finish in the championship game. Not a bad Vegas trip for the organization, even without the trophy.
The rest of the First Team rounds out with Thomas in Cleveland and Wilson in Chicago — both earning their spots through consistent production across the Las Vegas slate. The full ten-man honor roll was selected by a vote of all 30 NBA teams, per the league’s official announcement.
Summer League is a mirage factory. Every July, someone averages 22 against bench units and disappears by November. But the players who land on these teams — especially the ones who do it while their team is still playing for a championship — tend to carry something real into training camp. Lendeborg has a trophy and a ring. Burries has a game-winner and a stat line that says he was the best player on the floor every time he suited up. The regular season will tell us how much of it travels.
